Square House is designed as a modular home that takes advantage of the site’s higher ground to open the building toward better views. The design breaks the building into a series of connected volumes. Using a 5 x 5 meter modular block as the base unit, the house adapts to the slope more naturally and creates a composition that feels lighter, more flexible, and more connected to the landscape. This approach allows the project to balance view, topography, and livability in a clear architectural form.
Rather than making the whole house
one flat level, the project is broken into
a modular system that can respond more
gently to the slope.

The plot rises toward the road edge,
making the higher part of the site the
best position for capturing open views.
The terrain slope creates a challenge for
placing the house on a single level without
excessive cutting, filling, or sinking the
building into the ground.
Steep topography strongly shapes the
building form and levels.
The idea was to place the house on
higher ground in order to secure better
views from the living spaces.
A 5 x 5 meter block became the basic planning
unit, helping organize the house as a
composition of connected volumes.
This modular approach reduces the visual
heaviness of the building and allows it to step
across the terrain in a more natural way.
Ground floor
Shared living spaces are organized within
connected modular blocks, forming the core
of the house and linking the separate parts together..
Stepped Private Zones: Additional blocks
extend outward and adjust to the terrain,
allowing private rooms and support spaces
to sit more comfortably on the slope.
The main garden is placed inside the house,
creating an internal open space that brings
light, nature, and a stronger connection between
the different parts of the home.
